HalalStock ("we", "us") provides Sharia-compliance stock screening at halalstock.net. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Questions: [email protected].
HalalStock is an automated, best-effort screening tool for information and education only. It is not a fatwa, a religious ruling, or financial advice, and we make no guarantee that any verdict is accurate, complete, or current. What we collect
- Account — the email address you give when you create your account.
- What you save — symbols in your watchlist and the holdings you enter in your portfolio (so we can monitor them and compute zakat/purification). Portfolio holdings entered on the website are stored in your browser; holdings saved via the API are stored with your key.
- Usage — per-day API call counts and basic request logs (including IP address) for rate-limiting, security, and abuse prevention.
- Billing — handled entirely by our payment provider; we do not see or store your card details.
Why we use it
To provide the screening service, issue and meter API keys, send the compliance alerts and weekly digest you opt into, process subscriptions, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share the minimum necessary with: our payment provider (acting as merchant of record for payments), Resend (sending email), Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, DNS), and market-data sources such as Yahoo Finance. Each processes data under its own terms.
We only send compliance-change alerts and the weekly digest to addresses that have confirmed they want them. Every digest has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can stop all email by deleting your account.
Retention & your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time — email us or delete your account, which removes your key, watchlist, portfolio, and email preferences. We aim to honour requests promptly. Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, Saudi PDPL) you may have additional statutory rights.
Cookies & local storage
We use minimal browser local storage to remember your language, theme, and (on the website) your portfolio. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
