About HalalStock

An independent software tool for Sharia-compliance stock screening and financial data.

What HalalStock is — and isn't. HalalStock is a software and data product: it runs an automated screen of public financial data against AAOIFI Standard 21 and returns a result, a score, and the underlying numbers — plus a developer API for the same data. It is not a fatwa, a religious ruling, investment advice, brokerage, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. We are a data tool, not an advisor. See our methodology and terms.

What it does

Enter any stock or ETF and HalalStock screens it for you: it pulls the company's financials, applies the AAOIFI Standard 21 ratio thresholds (business activity, debt, and interest-bearing holdings), cross-verifies the figures across independent sources (SEC EDGAR, Yahoo Finance, Finnhub), and shows whether the security passes our screen, with the numbers behind it. The same screening and financial data — fundamentals, ratios, dividends — are available through a REST API and an MCP server for developers and AI agents. There's also a portfolio monitor and a zakat calculator.

Why it exists

Checking whether an investment meets Islamic screening criteria usually means digging through filings by hand or trusting an opaque label. HalalStock makes that fast, transparent, and verifiable — every result links back to the data it came from, in seven languages — so you can do your own due diligence and then confirm with your own scholar and advisor.

Who builds it

HalalStock is built and maintained by Mohammed A. Kamil, an independent software developer based in Saudi Arabia. It is a self-funded, independently operated product — not affiliated with any bank, brokerage, fund, or Sharia board.

How we make money

HalalStock earns through paid subscriptions and API plans. We do not sell your data and we do not take commissions on any trades — we have no relationship with any broker. Our only incentive is to make the screening data accurate and useful.
